yell and [ __ ] and complain and moan we're we're gonna look at it in a logical way but first i do want to talk about the disconnect between the yankees and the fanbase so guys if you do not mind met today just a little scoop for you guys real quickly my understanding is they've been talking deal for a couple of days now and they could very well close that deal today so kevin gossman may be the next new york met but we ain't here this is not nym news this is ny news you know what i mean oh gods to the mets that's what we give the mets we give the metro gods we'll talk about some of the deal a little bit though so they they pass another skit all you guys know what i'm talking about they're passing out the skit all we know that so anyway let's jump into the new york yankees let's jump into what i talked about in the original in the original thumbnail of this video the disconnect between the new york yankees and their fan base because i wanna i to harp on this a little bit because there's a disconnect and some of it's the fans fault some of us the yankees but they did a great job with pr the yankees have done a tremendous job with pr they have done a great job with pr they've done an amazing job on the public relations side getting the fans to truly buy in to what they're doing all right and if anybody does any super chats or any questions i will get to them as soon as i can but let me finish let me finish this up here first and then we'll get into all the questions we got time to talk today i'm chilling look you know your boys healing up i had my first uh uh um physical therapy i'm all right life is beautiful life is beautiful we're all alive we're all doing a chat today can't be mad about too much right so let's get into it guys i've been talking about this for a while if you have followed me on this page you guys have heard me for a very long time talk about the obvious disconnect between the fan base and the front office now should the fan base dictate every move the yankees make no of course not but the fan base is pretty knowledgeable on what this team needs because who pays more attention to than fans do fans are right there fans are watching yes we don't get the inside information yes we don't see what happens in a clubhouse yes we don't see the type of things that you know maybe we need to have a little more insight on to make certain decisions but for years now during these chats um during my regular videos whether it was me doing a video france is doing a video or be doing a video felix doing his videos doesn't matter who it was we've really shared the same message that the yankees we know what they need to do but the yankees have not done it and we're kind of seeing that trend in that direction today i would say and you guys tell me if i'm wrong or not i would say roughly 70 percent of the fan base wanted aaron boone gone because they have felt he is not the proper manager for this club what do the yankees do to start the offseason boom bring aaron boone right back and they tell us to our face he's one of the best managers in the game they have told us to our face he's not a puppet they have told us to face analytics or not making all the decisions they have told us to her face well you know ask brian i told him you go out there brian you go out there and you get joey gallo even if we go over what do the yankees do brian cashman comes out and goes no you know we stayed under the luxury tax we gave up some more guys that he pay everything we stayed under so not only is there a disconnect between the team and the fan base there's a disconnect up top we also heard i'm just gonna throw quotes at it because this is so damn obvious now we have also heard brian cashman come out and go well um no aaron knew aaron boone knew before he signed here that phil nevin his best friend was gone aaron boone comes out 20 minutes later and goes well if i knew that i don't think i would be here right now what excuse me sir and what are we getting again this off season we are getting the same exact messaging once again we're being told guys we will spend all the money in the world we'll do we got there is no limits now by all means should the new york yankees come out and say we're not going to spend of course not because you don't know what could fall to you but there is a severe disconnect among this club and its fan base the fan base i've been saying for years we need some speed we need athletes we needed a lefty batter so which brian cashman did go do we need versatility we need guys who go first to third guys remember let's get those likes up i want to try to hit 200 likes while we're in here right now we're about we're about to hit over 60. got almost 200 people in here so let's get those likes up and share please share greatly appreciate it but that's where we are we got the fan base feeling that we know what this team needs to do but they have not done it the fans have had an idea of what this team needs to do for years now i'm not talking about this off season and we're going to get to this off season right after this but there is a major disconnect here how do you fix that i don't know they've told us analytics isn't playing the pure role of everything here but it's obvious it is it's about as clear as day it's about as clear as day and unfortunately you have a lot of the fan base who has bought into this idea you have a lot of the fan base who has bought into when the yankees will come out and say hey guys we tried it didn't work out they'll sit there and argue with you well they tried well the yankees tried they went out there to get somebody so with that being said let's talk about the fan base a little bit and where we are as a whole because i've seen this message a lot yesterday black friday wasn't too much of a black friday shopping in a sense of saving for the new york mets they go out there they make multiple moves escobar connor and of course starling martay who was the big drop of the night the cherry on top of the knife for the new york mets and i see many comments and many tweets by yankee fans saying all the yankees aren't gonna spend that much money oh but he's 33 years old oh but the yankees didn't they weren't really serious about him were they this this that that is the part of the fan base who will never dare to put enough pressure on this ball club where it needs to be and unfortunately that mindset and that idea is what the beat riders are also pushing the majority of them it's what the yes network tells you it's what all the wfans and all the stations out there talking about the yankees that have a platform we're not gonna do that here now by all means if we have a teammate who feels that way they're allowed to do what they want they're allowed to come on ny news and say it because that's their realness that's what they really believe in that's okay i'm here to tell you what pete's realness is ny news real talk for the real fan real talk for the real fan that's what you're always gonna get here so when i'm told and i'm looking at these comments dude is 33 years old you wouldn't give him four years because he's too old have you seen martay's body type have you seen marte's body type fam if you think 19 million a year for stalin marte is a bad signing you're out your freaking mind and if you also have the idea that that's out of the range for the yankees they go like another club i gotta keep it real with you for a second if 19 million is too much for the yankees to get an elite center fielder great speed great shape great defense great good arm great speed lead off hitter he checks every single box if you guys remember i talked about the video the other day that will never happen of course cedric mullins but i talked about it because it was news and it's exciting and it would make sense those are the type of guys that check every single box the yankees and yankee fans feel it was too old he was too old he was too old because apparently yankee fans have forgot that we are a win-now team yankee fans have forgot that we need to win a world series yesterday and when you lose that mindset you have now given in to new ownership you have now given in to the hal steinberg and new york yankees you have now given in to being mediocre you have now given in to the excuses you have now given in to second third fourth and fifth place that's what you have now given into so by all means by all means does this really affect the yankees in a major way that they can't have a good offseason no no so maybe there is a slight overreaction and that's okay guys here's another thing here's another thing folks and this is something that a lot of yankee fans love to tell people you're overreacting sure the yankee fans they're allowed to yankee fans are allowed to overreact we go to a ball game and it's like going to disney world we have every right to overreact not me personally because i i don't look am i upset about marta yes i think the yankees could have made that deal i think they could have went a different route but that's what i talked about uh plan one a two a three a c a four a a one one a one b one c there's a lot of different plans the yankees can do to have a terrific ball club for 2022. that is where my problem comes in because again yes is getting martay something where the yankee fans should just be overly angry about or overly mad about or be so upset that they feel like nothing could work is that is that potentially something that the yankees could look at and say this is is something that uh um nothing we do now is gonna work because the mets got martay so oh no we're in trouble no and that is not the way you should run your organization so i understand where some of these yankee fans go guys you're overreacting that's okay but to make the little minor excuses that you're seeing yankee fans make is horrible it is horrible it's pathetic it's terrible you cannot do that let me tell you why and let's get into what the yankees may or may not do we'll also start getting into your guys question so i'll start answering your guys questions and go from there because here's the problem okay do you guys remember and i was talking to my good friend rob before this do you guys remember when aaron boone had a press conference and he was explaining that um g and carlos stanton is a unicorn because and i'm not even making a joke out of this i know i make a joke about the unicorns but stay with me for a second he was making the point that giancarlo stan has it all the guy does everything he could do everything he's like a unicorn he's like that guy he's magical when he's hot he's magical he's he's something else to watch that's the yankees franchise guys this is what bothers me that's the yankees franchise their franchise is a unicorn in that sense not unicornios they're not gonna get hopefully not eating unicorn ears all year that is the new york yankees organization let me explain to you they got money no matter whether hal says it or not they got money they got prospect capital a ton of prospect capital they got everything as a general manager when you go to the new team like the yankees you get look we got money to spend we got prospects to deal we need to fix a few positions and then on top of that on top of that oh you have an unbelievable stock pile of free agents and players that are available via trade think about that for a second again repetitive pete here but you got one a one b one c one d one e one f one g blah blah blah blah blah blah let the wall keep going and have a different plan and it's gonna end up good better than how you started in 2021 that's the problem that is my issue you need to be aggressive here you know when you hide in the bushes so to say do you understand when you when you when you duck for cover because you're looking over the safari you're the lioness you're ready to prowl and hunt you're looking you're waiting you're ducking you're waiting for something to get closer to you if you're doing that for the big catch cool and i'll play devil's advocate here maybe that's what the yankees are doing maybe that's what the yankees are doing because let's let's be real let's look at the whole picture marcus simeon isn't signed seeger is not signed corey is not signed and story's not signed the mariners just got frasier teams are making moves right for the yankees very much you can sit low you could beat a lioness here right you could prowl you could say oh look at this look at this that buffalo's getting close whatever the hell they eat and then boom hope you're not wearing headphones i was probably loud you could sit there and wait you could sit there and wait but that's for the big fish that is for the big fish the yankees can't just sign a big fish to say that's it that's an off season can not work that way seeger makes the yankees a little better but he doesn't do much correa makes the yankees better but he doesn't do much story and simian make the yankees better but it doesn't do it all these cats are out here posting videos of aaron i don't think brian cashman is a top bottom gm i don't think brian cash is a bottom gm he's done a lot of good moves at the end of the day if it comes to spending that's not brian cashmere that's hal steinberg my problem with brian cashman is he holds on to guys way too long doesn't mean he's a terrible gm it just means he has belief in his system and that's okay but when you're the new york yankee you can't necessarily build your club that way you have to have you have to have you have to have a mindset of certain guys we want to hold on to but we cannot risk keeping them in the name of getting a robbie ray a cl um uh garrett cole you can't hold on to him in those type of positions it's the same thing right now when we talk about matt olsen you got yankee oh no i wouldn't do all that well you got to give up something and you can't be in love with prospects enough to miss out on that so i wouldn't say he's a bottom 5 gm i wouldn't say he's a bottom 5 gm i wouldn't say that at all brand especially speaking way too much facts right now brandon this just obvious [ __ ] you know what i'm saying this is just obvious stuff it's just that we are living in a time where fans are eating production who is better than him defense fam defense is production how in the hell can you keep this guy as the catcher at his ball club i i i don't understand the mindset of many people in this fan base i don't get it i don't understand it people act like defense has no importance over being a catcher defense is production this guy caught a ball 25 friggin feet from home plate and never tagged the base runner this guy could barely block a ball in the dirt pitchers are probably scared to throw a ball in the dirt this guy towards the end of the year had three starting pitchers the top three arguably in the rotation not want to throw to him this guy got a pop-up call to him went backwards turned the wrong way went back forward and never even touched the ball this guy has not started the playoff game in two years was gary sanchez a rookie last year am i missing something have we not had more than enough time to see who this player is have we not have more than enough time to see who this player is i am completely utterly shocked by what a lot of this fan base is preaching to fans a lot of the people with a platform is preaching to fans you're not gonna see it on this platform i aaron hicks as the full-time center fielder and you got to have a short stop who at least can feel the ball very well you got to have all that if the yankees don't do that there's too much that's too tyler man tyler meant not serious um he just missed that word there i'm pretty sure uh knowing tyler i'm pretty sure because he has the same mindset as where i've been but that's where it is that's where it is right now um i'm trying i'm trying to corroborate a rumor here that i just got from somebody else um hold on one second guys so i i just got a i'll wait to corroborate it a little more but my understanding is somebody just said that the yankees actually and not somebody but i obviously don't want to say who the person is but um i just got a message saying that the yankees have actually talked to the braves about dansby swanson so i don't know how much legs that has i don't know how realistic that actually is but um give me a second and we will i want to corroborate that with a few other people first before um we go anywhere else with that but my understanding is that the yankees have have had a conversation i don't know how much it is but i've had a conversation about dansby swanson let's go to the super chat ro thompson the family right here the problem is the yankees have a plethora of issues and it appears as if they aren't operated with any sense of urgency that's it raw raw you hit it right on the head that that's it that's the thing right there you could be the lioness you could wait for the prey to get close you could wait for the slick move but not when you got five or six moves you got to make not when you got that many not when you got that many jonathan alvarez family from way back in the day i wish sanchez nothing but success but it can't be on this club yankees need to prioritize a defensive first catcher i'm over it jonathan i'll pat myself on the back i'll pat felix on the back and tell you guys that we've said it for years now because we have that that's not even taking credit for get credit i don't care about credit it was obvious it was obvious to me back in the day when i heard what i heard i was like oh [ __ ] they got a problem here and if you don't believe me you could go back to i think it was mlb.com scouting report on gary sanchez before he got there right before he got there my understanding of it was that even in a scouting report i read it recently this is before he came up and did what he did in the in the scouting report excuse me and the scouting reporter even says they don't know if he could consistently stay at catcher because of his work ethic or wanting to be a catcher the actual heart of wanted to be a catcher playing that position there was rumors that even then he wouldn't do it so we'll see yeah guys i'll be honest with you like i said before i'm i'm not gonna tweet that out as of right now just because i haven't cooperated with anybody else but the person who told me is is usually very very spot on so again that could just be a hey we want to check in to see what's available what options we have is it a possibility it could be one of those but that's again something that gm's do doesn't mean there's loads of interest it doesn't mean it's something that could happen but that that's exactly what a gm would do that's the type of moves gm's look to do you know you you figure out what's out there and what's a possibility so i'm sorry i'm just messaging back real quick um but again that's where it is and guys we have almost 300 people in here can we please get those likes up i would love right now who do i prefer in centerfield reynolds and mullins either one of them if that was the case either one of them could tell martay i would take him in a heartbeat but look let me even send hey everybody what is going on pete samnetta here for nyy news there's a little rumor out there today saying that the baltimore orioles may look into seeing what offers would be for one cedric mullins now people are immediately probably gonna say uh impossible can't happen and i'm probably gonna agree with you it's probably impossible probably can't have it but it's fun to talk about so i'm gonna come here and talk about this because why the hell not folks you would probably be hard pressed to find a better fit for these new york yankees than cedric mullins he checks all the boxes center field yankees have a need lefty bat the yankees have a need speed the yankees have a need versatil i'm not versatilium sorry athletic ability the yankees have a need leadoff hitter the yankees have a significant need he checks all the box and arguably it's hard to sit there and say okay well anybody even has been rumored as available who would make more sense than a cedric mullins makes a ton of sense in the world if you even think about it we'll get into what it may take after but look at cedric melons real quick cedric mullins is 27 years old last year he had a 5.7 war 30 home runs 291 average 175 hits 91 runs scored 59 rbis 30 stolen bases on base percentage 360 slugging percentage 518 ops 878. this is one of the elite outfielders in major league baseball with everything he does and no i'm pretty sure his second half wasn't as great as his first but still just an absolutely terrific season for cedric mullins he was an all-star we know that um ended up actually being ninth in mvp voting he did also win a silver slugger award so if you're the baltimore orioles right now and you're looking at this type of thing for a guy like a cedric mullins right you're saying hey you know it's almost like brian reynolds in a sense is that you're sitting back saying he's available you know what i mean and you mean with orioles you know we don't expect that that we're very very close to competing you know he could be available but at the end of the day you're gonna have to really knock our socks off here to make a deal work that's the only way you move central malls and i tell you what for the orioles it's smart if you're the baltimore orioles this is smart this is a smart way for you to do business because if a team does come knock and go hey look this guy fits our mold perfect here's what we're offering and they throw at you you know maybe two top fives two top tens uh four guys overall maybe a fifth in the lower level and you're like you know what where the orioles we know we got some decent young pitchers coming up we got maybe arguably the best catching prospect in the game we see what um what's what some of the guys on the club uh did this year your mount castles your your haze your mullens we've seen what these guys have have done and what they could potentially become if a team goes out there goes look we got some some you know starting pigeon prospects that are closing in that are getting close to being there maybe we can work a deal around that cedric mullins by the way is you know it's not like he has some big salary or anything coming along with them so you would have just about every single team interested in this guy so this is a very very smart time for the baltimore orioles to consider moving him and even flirting with the idea of moving whisk again teams are going to throw a lot out so when it comes to the yankees cedric mullins would be a free agent that's 31 when he when he's 31 years old that is in 2026 so you'll have for 22 23 24 25 26 so you're having for four full seasons moving forward and again for any team any team at all that is huge that is absolutely huge for every team that is something that you want so when you look at the yankees you know let's get to it i'm first of all i'm gonna say this right now one there's two there's two things here one i don't think the orioles would be extremely inclined to say hey yanks here you go they might be but still if they look to compete in two to three years they'd still be competing against somebody they traded and made the other club better so i think that's the hesitancy there and two brian cashman ain't ever gonna give up what it would take to land cedric mullins cedric mullins is again what you would assume the pirates would ask for for brian reynolds so guys you know when you when you think about the new york yankees you got to think about their top prospects the baltimore orioles have every right in the world to ask for the top of the line guys from the new york yankees they don't have to ask for anything less at all they could ask for anthony volpe jason dominguez oswald peraza luis hill clark smith austin wells trey ceni uh uh uh luis medina davey garcia alexander vargas uh everson pierre who they just added hayden with nasa westnesski um oswaldo cabrera josh bro i mean it don't matter you can ask for whatever the hell you want if you're the baltimore orioles because again if the yankees did want him they got to knock your socks off and first of all at the end of the day i don't see him doing it when we talked about on a couple of lives and on designated spitters when we brought up the idea of a brian reynolds trade we immediately said well you know i would give jason dominguez up in a deal like that because brian reynolds right now is kind of what you hope jason dominguez could turn into um he obviously has this huge potential on his back it's a lot on a young kid only in a ball very very raw to professional major league baseball so he has time to develop and you never know how the development could go but again you got luis heal who i think could be attractive uh luis medina who could be attractive guys who are you know legitimate starting pitching prospects uh austin wells probably not so much considering they got roche ruchman rouchman whatever his name is but you guys know who's if you're any interest at all in baseball the orioles got one of the best catching prospects in the game volpe of course to be interested in but we don't see him going anywhere at all but any of those guys so dominguez peraza heal schmidt uh sweeney potentially medina uh ken waldechuk uh uh yo andre gomez garcia i mean it's gonna take four of those guys if you're the orioles it's gonna take four of those guys dominguez potentially heal medina and let's say gomez or smith i mean if it's me i'mma win that kind of guy i'm going for that i'm a win now kind of guy i'm a win now kind of guy that's the route i take that is the route i would personally take so i don't know about you guys but again just as a disclaimer so everybody doesn't get the pennies up in a bunch and go pee come on you know it can happen this trade probably got a better chance of happening than me developing wings and flying through my damn wall right here alright so probably not gonna happen i know the yankees and the oreos made deals before but a lot of you know britain and all that was was gonna be a free agent you know you kind of had to move him mullins the auras could be like hey you know offenses is pretty nice you know what i mean our offense is kind of nice out there we could keep them up there again maybe some pitching comes along maybe some decent happens that we're we're a decent team in two to three is it's very possible you know that's very possible so they don't have to deal nobody same thing with the pirates they got some of the best young prospects in all baseball getting very very close to the major leagues you got to knock their socks off to make a deal and i don't blame them if i'm both them i'm sitting back saying yeah we'll try to trade them no doubt give us you know four of your top seven four of your top eight then we'll have a deal right why not cause because if we can get for the one guy maybe three starting pitching prospects that are close to being ready maybe one of those guys is more of a serviceable guy the other two could be legit potential you know one two threes sign me up they're not then we'll talk but until then i'm gonna say he's not available it's the smart move it's a smart move by the baltimore orioles team that hasn't made tons of smart moves in the past it's nice to see him doing something pretty smart but cedric mullins would be the perfect yankee pickup he would be the perfect yankee picker for their offense that's when you're looking that's why martay day by day day by day by day by day starlin marte becomes more attractive because he really fits the yankees well and you know got a lot of fans well he's older well the yankees aren't a team that's looking to win in 2026 they're looking to win in 2022 and that's the mindset you got to have as a yankees gm is that you are looking to win now not four years from now because if that is your mindset and you're playing it wrong and you're not playing to your advantages which is money prospect capital money and prospect capital those are those are the new york yankees two huge huge advantages over the club over other clubs they can sign whoever the hell they want typically not on their house a little different and they got prospect capital where they go make trades when they need to and they got these guys that are closing into the major leagues also to help them so they got the best of both worlds right now they just got to use utilize it that way the new york yankees should be the marvel character the juggernaut that's what they that's what they need to be they need to be the juggernaut they need to just be able to run through walls non-stop break through everything go look we're gonna we're gonna juggling out through everything that's how we that's how we run our business here has it been like that mullins to the yankees is likely not happening whatsoever but boy oh boy cedric mullins would be an amazing pickup for the new york yanks and really would fit them what is going on everybody pete simonetti here for ny news and as you can see it is off it is off so the rehab physical therapy process starts now six plus weeks six weeks or so um yeah a little a little beat up sore hurts um but hey i always like a good challenge so i expect a much better and stronger me over the next six plus weeks positive positive positive positive but anyway guys i want to talk about a conversation i had with an advanced scout who gives me a lot of good information on a lot of yankee prospects he does not work in a yankee organization got connected to him from a lot of other people but but this is his job his job is to know a lot of these guys that could face teams in the future that could come up and do some damage and no he is the the eyes the ears so to say and the guider uh of an organization that's what that role basically is to inform and let teams know whether it's they're playing against them whether it's trade value whether it's a guy that may fit your team down the line this is their job to know these things so i asked a simple question i said going back to 1996 when the new york yankees gave young prospect derek jeter the chance to be a shortstop now times are a little different derek jeter also wasn't in a time where free agency was you know 96 wasn't uh you didn't have four guys out there who you know will command a hundred plus million dollar contract somebody maybe 300 plus guarantee 200 plus on a few of them and be legitimate stars that can immediately jump into a team's shortstop role and become a leader or the star player team middle of the order bet not facing that so what i asked him was is there any chance that young yankee prospect oswal cabra oswal cabrera my goodness oswald perazza oswaldo cabrera just added to the yankee 40 man look out for him he plays shortstop third base second base anyway oswald barraza none of this is scripted always real at ny news guys oswald peraza you guys know i love oswald peraza i am extremely high in this guy and is nice to know that many others are also and not just in the yankees organization one of the reasons why brian cashman really feels like i don't know if i should you old six foot about 170 175 last year last year look at these numbers guys 297 average 38 stolen bases 58 rbis 18 home runs ops of 834 on base percentage of 3 56 76 runs scored just an absolutely tremendous year for oswald peraza 26 doubles three uh three triple two triples overall caught stealing 10 times but stole 38 bases again um slugging percentage 477 across the board and as you guys know he went from able to double a where he was terrific to triple a he ended the year in triple a one of the things you guys again have heard me say a lot was really corroborated by the scout that i sent these questions to my question simply was this would the yankees not will they not do you think could the yankees give oswald peraza the derek sanderson jeter treatments would he put him out there and just surround him by some really good guys his response to me was oswald peraza could start a shortstop for any club in major league baseball right now he wouldn't need no more conditioning none of that again he could start right now with any club now he did say this if that were the case he would ensure that the second baseman is dj lemayo and not glaber torres the reason being you want to put veteran more veteran guys around that can really handle that position around him if you could kind of block him in with a giovanni or shella who handles this position very well and also did a good job of short stop peralta short and then at second base dj lemay got a lot of great voices around a kid who most people will tell you if they don't feel his bat is totally there yet the glove is he's smooth he's slick these are the words that i've said before and the words that he also stated to me oswald is a very good defensive shortstop and the one thing he mentioned is what a lot of the other shortstops that are available what all the money is available that they're not gonna necessarily give you is legitimate speed legitimate guide i could do 20 plus stolen bases easy now we know trevor story out of all the guys available is fast he's very athletic he compared him more to a story than anybody else available he said the one thing he thinks that he will become better than story if he ever became better than story is that he will make more contact than trevor story he's not a guy that needs to swing for homers to drive the ball out that's a gift he has he can drive the ball the right center field that a lot of people see as doubles he takes them over the fence so i asked that question for a simple reason with all the information i've been given i do not see the yankees dropping a major contract unfortunately guys this is no longer the new york yankees that we once truly loved and we still love of course but it's ran a little differently a lot differently if you really want to go into but i'm just specifically speaking when all these guys are available back in the day the yankees would have got them they might have got two of them they might have got two of them in all reality because they got a they could they could literally do second third or short and fill two positions if they really wanted to they could have done that with the mindset right now that we could potentially see correa go elsewhere and sager go elsewhere seeger leaving simeon and story as the potentially other big names that the yankees can go out there and get right i think story's a terrific fit if you go out there and add more pitching wise trades get a good catcher and all that but if the yankees were to say you know what we do have money we could spend on the the the yearly basis we don't want to get tied into it to an eight six seven eight nine ten d year deal we want to save that for aaron judge but we will do you know four five year deals maybe guys you know not at 30 plus million a year none of that stuff maybe we get some 22 23 24 25s in there the yankees go out there and let's say you know we think robbie ray and pitching is going to be key we feel like if we added um a marte in center field or if we make a trade of some sort uh with merrifield i don't know just to throw a name out there somebody that hits a little bit of contact moves guys over drives at the top of that top of that order a little bit gets on base more can run a little bit again starlin marte um if we did something like that maybe just maybe if we trade for matt olsen maybe just maybe we can get a guy also when i give it up haraz and then we can leave a peraza at short let him develop between two guys like a urshella maybe a kyle seeger they end up going out and get potentially i don't know i'm just throwing stuff out there and the dj lemayo maybe it's instead of trading a peraza to oakland they trade a glaber torres maybe they also get a pitcher in that deal so the main thing that i also asked was well what is the mindset of oswald peraz and he said flat out oswald peraz could come up to the major leagues and he'll do his thing he's just that type of guy from what he saw he just he's a professional ball player he doesn't see a guy that tries to be flashy he doesn't see a guy that that show boasts he doesn't see a guy that you know um um you know the saying that he puts his head down and he runs he's a gamer he goes out there and plays baseball so again i am not advocating i am not pushing for the new york yankees to just say start peraza what i'm trying to again come full circle here because the yankees made some good moves when they released the guys they released recently to add to that 40-minute roster they added really good players i thought stephen ridings would have been gone i thought ron martin mara kisio whatever his name is um who's it excellent i hate when i can't pronounce an italian name if i had it in front of me i could do it but i always forget it they added good guys ever since pierre we already know about oswaldo cabrera who i mentioned earlier in this video but if that's a sign maybe they do start going to the younger guys here maybe the yankees do say you know what we are the yankees yes but maybe we can also be like the tampa bay rays just in the sense that if we have an open position and if we want to if we want to add elsewhere because we can we can throw a peraza out there because we know we're going to add a huge starting pitcher we know we're going to add a big center fielder i don't think yankee fans have an issue with that at all it's just a balancing act the yankees can't sit back there and go we're not going to get these guys because it's too much money well unfortunately we didn't add enough so we'll just start some of our younger guys that ain't going to cut it that's not the strength of what the yankees should be doing the strength of what the new york yankees should be doing is that yes we can do the small deal yes we can make a trade because we got a good farm system and yes when it comes to big bucks we can spend it we got everything we got guys we could call up and play we got guys we can trade for and we have money that is the best you can have as an organization the yankees have it they just got to utilize it the right way the philosophy got to be the right way it's not that you spend 220 million dollars it's how you spend it that's been the issue with his ball club how they have spent their money we can pull players from this roster and go ha that adds up to 80 90 million for what and you could do that easy with the new york yankees roster so again i'm not sitting here saying a yankee shouldn't go get correa they shouldn't go get secret they shouldn't go get stored they shouldn't go get simeon you guys know i think story would be terrific depending on what he is i might try to offer him a big one-year deal but sticking to oswald peraza i confirmed with multiple people i know brian cashman said his glove would play up here right now his bat would the event scout i talked to said he would not see peraza really having an issue because of his intangibles because of what he brings to the table his attributes they're all there he said one it'll take an adjustment but he's made those he's shown him in the past he started off double a very slow he made an adjustment he made an adjustment that's what the best guys do they make adjustments they make adjustments he only had 28 at-bats in aaa 286 one homer but most people would tell you the legitimate competition in the miners is double a when it comes to pure talent there is more pure talent prospects aaa you have a lot of your your journeymen still down there guys that are kind of holding on to a last hope guys that are organizational fillers prospects too but triple double a that's why you see a lot of guys make the jump from double a to the major leagues because of that exactly so everything i hear everything i have been told if the yankees really wanted to go to the route of the derek jeter route with the oswald peraza they can do it they can do it again guys this what is going on everybody pizza minetta here for nyy news the yankees make a move today on the coaching staff luis rojas former mets manager will be the new york yankees third base coach i like the move um rojas is actually well respected around the game um the position he was putting with the mets was not a good one you know what i mean and a lot of people feel that um he wasn't ready to be a manager yet or in that situation they had him in it just wasn't the best fit in the world but as a coach all you hear is great praises about him and look you know if he can do anything to maybe balance some of these guys out work a little more in the infield have a little say in what goes on um i like the start of where they're going with the coaches that now everybody knows i'm never going to be happy with aaron boone unless he really changes the way he manages unless he gets a little bit of pride and dignity back in his system and is able to bench guys when they don't run or go over and pull them to the side and grab him and talk to them you know unless that happens i'm not a fan of of of the coaching staff because of boone but they could do some things to add some guys i think luis rojas is a nice start now i was the first person to put the information out there i was told that eric chavez also interviewed i believe there's a very good possibility of be a part of this staff um i my understanding is the interview went very well so let's see what happens there the other news on the day that got a lot of people talking john heyman reported that brian cashman met with the agents of freddie freeman and and freeman and blah blah blah blah blah guys can i just tell you a little spoiler alert real quick if brian cashman didn't meet with freddie freeman and co he's not doing his job he wouldn't be doing his job the yankees have a first baseman now who would be out of position but dj lemayo could play first base they are interested in their plan their plan anthony rizzo matt olsen most people believe one of those three will be the yankee third baseman but why would you not talk to freddie freeman and kind of see how he feels about new york would that be an interest to him what is it going to take why not have those conversations i mean if he doesn't then he's not doing his job as gm you got to have option a b c d and e gotta have those options on the table so i look no more into this than just that he was doing his due diligence and it's the right thing to do it's kind of his job to be fair so i know john heyman is out there you know looking for clicks and all that i mean i guess they do that right the inside is typically dude i just got met with this guy today and whatever um i mean i did it with patrick corbin so i put that information out that he was at the stadium they were meeting they had a meeting set up and um yeah so i guess um i did the same thing too so why should i do that to good old john heyman i love john heyman um but really guys that's it right now you know um all quiet before the storm maybe i think by friday we'll see something done i don't know if it's olson i think the yankees are very very deep in those i don't believe that i think so and the way the market's going so eduardo rodriguez get paid today what is robbie ray gonna get justin verlander might get 20 million a year i don't know how but he might so gotta fix this mic one arm guys it's annoying um but we'll see what happens it could be an interesting week for the yankees you know they got some decisions to make with the with the 40 man and non-tenders coming up it's going to be a very interesting time i really believe that brian cashman is going to have to clear some space um that's only really done through trade unless you just drop these guys which would make no sense at all because randy vasquez is really good as well the cabrera is really good everson pierre's really good steven ridings is good i mean matt sawyer is good there's a lot of guys on that list that are really good ball players that the yankees have to add or lose in a rule 5 draft and you know i i think i think the yankees will make some moves by friday a if it's him and dj like a lot more there's a rumor also that seeger can move to third base pretty quickly um the lefty bat is a plus we know that he makes contact that's a plus yep so there's a lot of pluses there for cory seeger that i like he's gonna cost money potentially over three maybe a little under three we'll see but um yeah i think like you francis i wouldn't be shocked one bit if the yankees signed corey seeger i put a i put it into our chat the other day uh just uh the guys we were talking i think joe or rb asked like where do you guys see all the shortstop signings so i i did a list i'm not gonna reveal my list right now because we you know i'm not trying to give everything out in the first five minutes here right yep but with seeger i still feel uh his most likely landing spot is the new york yankees for much of the things that you named already the lefty bat um but let me just to be to be different to add on to it right corey seeger off the field he just fits the yankee profile right we know that he does um i put out i put out a tweet thread uh maybe yesterday or the day before yesterday and it was speaking mainly about like correa versus seeger but not in terms of skill was terms like off the field profile like fitting the yankees and uh secret seeker just fits that profile if you look at him you look at the way he approaches his his work day in day out he looks like a yankee guy like that's you know i mean like he doesn't he's not ruffling very many feathers he's not you know giving you fodder and post-game interviews or whatever says all the right things and the whole thing about him not being uh you know good defensively has been overblown yeah at this point i even said that he's he's an average defender he's not some guy he's going to bobble routine plays he makes the average listen guys and you guys may not like this comparison or agree with it especially with everything that's out right there right now but in terms of like his glove at shortstop he's very reminiscent of a derek jeter maybe he's gonna say the same thing maybe better all right if we're calling a spade a spade he's gonna make all the average plays um he's gonna cover a decent ground uh there um he's not gonna make that many above average plays there but he's gonna make he's gonna make the average he's gonna make the house he's supposed to and that in it in and of itself is a huge upgrade from what we started at shortstop last night i was just gonna say that either way it's an upgrade at shortstop on both sides of the ball both sides of the ball now what um what i feel like is happening is that you have like you have different camps in in yankee land right now for the fans right and there's the people who feel like if i want correa to sign with the yankees i need to like bash seeger and bash all the other candidates yeah yeah that's not that's not true like i'm i'm a hunt and like i said we'll get to that later i don't want to even go into him now because i know that's going to be a good hot topic but i will say this my personal choice my number one choice would be carlos correa yeah but i'm not going to sit here and tell you that corey seeger is not a good enough option at shortstop because that's a lie francis i'll get this off the bat right now because i think we agree with this this crop of shortstops is so damn good would you really be mad about any of them how could you miss that's so here's what i'm saying we know i would always right seeger story correa simeon people [ __ ] on simi and how samia had a great you know arguments with me today so i'll tell you guys this today arby goes to me and goes he said in our chat he goes who'd you guys say out of all the players available who is the the what was some like who is going to be the most productive going forward and i said to be fair to be real with you if this guy continues who he is over the next three year span minimum simian's the best right now if you're going off for the most if you're going off of our most recent recent season now like i said i said if i'm looking at projection of potential correa yeah i'd say carlos correa has the overall ability to be better than everybody but for the long can't at all this guy no damn good simeon see i think with i think with simeon people are are underselling it a little bit i'm gonna tell you guys right now i don't i don't talk to very many people like i literally just because i joined ny news like by luck of the draw because i'm associating with pete and different guys i began talking to guys like hulk and all these other people but before they i never had a relationship with them but aside from what they're saying about seeger and correa simeon's market if you just put his name into twitter and like read simeon's market is very robust i would hazard to say i would hazard to say it might be even more robust than segre and korea because more teams feel like they can land similarly correct correct these same things going to happen with story the same thing is going to happen with story you know what you're not hearing much about him now but his market is going to pick up bro based on my something that when we're speaking about the other crop of guys out there story is in the elite end of that his speed is elite his base running is elite he steals bases another thing that's being i guess overlooked or undersold story is probably the second best defensive shortstop out of the crop 100 and no question no and it's arguable and it's arguable some people might not like this but it's arguable that he's the first best and i'll tell you why carlos correa did just come off winning a platinum glove this year you cannot take anything away from that but story has been elite defensively at shortstop since go since the moment he said go to now it's been elite not to say that carlos hasn't been as good but for carlos it's been a build up to now he's literally a platinum glove shortstop trevor story has like been so you know what i mean like it's like let's let's give let's give the credit where his dude trevor story he's not a pushover he's not a slouch he wouldn't be he he like i i the fact that trevor story could be a plan b just goes to tell you how deep this free agent is oh he could be a plan c yeah honestly he might be he could be he could very well he he honestly might be a plan c or d you never know exactly which is which was the other super chat that we got from anthony i think he said hey guys if that rumor is true of how not wanting to spend 300 million for either correa or seeger do they pivot and go to sign story well just to be fair so let me just jump on that real quick as i put that information out there my understanding of it was that it wasn't specifically story but that's the name that one person said keep an eye on um so it wasn't like three of them didn't say trevor store is the guy going after one of them told me story should be a guy we look at because the yankees had interest in them and a lot of the idea about them souring on him they don't believe is necessarily true because where the money would be the difference because i've said this before and you know i tell you what like if you look at that and again thank you um thank you anthony for the super chat um you look at a guy like trevor store and if the yankees say i mean francis you may notice better than i do what's his projection money wise under 200 million i'm pretty sure unless somebody blows it out the water trevor's story yeah yeah trevor's story is not projected to get more than 230 million which like 230 240 so on the high end and this is the high end that i've seen for projections the high end is 240. on the low end there's some people out there that think he signs a deal of like 185 million and i mean look if you can save 100 million dollars and again we're not making the money i think the yankees should spend all they want i think house should go up to 270 280 290 even it doesn't matter to me but at the end of the day if you add if you save money there and you put it to a robbie right you put it to a starlin marte can you imagine adding all those guys so that would be absolutely huge uh let me look for the next question on here do you see a shortstop coming off the market before december 1st that's from chris perez jr um i will say i'm gonna go yeah i'm gonna go with yeah okay i'm gonna say there's at least one big signing before the shutdown yeah i will say i will say i will say i am not 100 sure that it's a short stop um i think there's a big signing i think but i do i will say that i will say that there that a big deal could happen before december 1st i put i would put it at 75 chance one of the bigger free agents because remember there's not it's not just you know what we're paying attention to in the short stop class you have starling marty at center field you have robbie ray at starting pitcher you have justin verlander at starting pitcher you have max scherzer at starting pitcher you have freddy freeman who reportedly turned down an offer from the braves this week right they might counter with the right they might counter with the right number he might sign that deal that's a big signing like so i would say we're about a 75 chance that one of these big names signs before december 1st because some of these guys like i said a couple episodes ago they're going to want to know where the hell they're going in february and some some of these guys aren't going to want to wait like if i'm justin verlander oh yeah i'd want to know i could see i'm gonna and this may be a hot take this might not be a hot take to some of you but i can see verlander signing wherever he's gonna sign this week yeah it makes sense he has until what is it thursday or wednesday to accept or decline the qualifying offer yeah if he if he if he declines that qualifying offer at 18 million he's got to know that there's a robust market out there where he's going to get a couple years and the money that he wants yeah if the market is not what people are saying it is because i know a lot of people are out there reporting stuff but i haven't seen it like corroborated by some of the insiders right so i don't know i'm not going to sit here and pretend that i know what verlander's market is i've put out my own guesses but if the market is not what some of you guys are saying it is that 40 50 million dollars people want to offer him then i could see him accepting the qo this week yeah like verlander's he's definitely a case um noah syndergaard is another guy who could accept the qualifying offer kindergarten makes a ton of sense because i don't think anybody's going to blow him out the water and if you think about it with a guy like him he could be the best free agent starter next year exactly i guess that one year my i was i was uh i was super shocked that the mets even went qualifying offer with syndergaard just because like you run the risk of paying 20 million dollars to a guy who pitched like what was it like two innings or something last year like yeah that's really it's like it's it's it's it's nice it's a nice little payday it's a nice little payday for somebody who hasn't you know what i mean i'm not i'm not criticizing because the yankees have done the same if not worse in certain cases but you remember you gave him the qo and you gave conforto did they give comfort of the qo as well i believe so and they gave stroh the truth so it's like it's like wow like okay if you had to choose right who i'm who i'd rather like give that eighteen point four to strowman would be my god why because he he pitched for you no pitch right you know and he's pro and he's probably going to pitch again yeah now with cinder guard yes there would be teams out there willing to take the risk you always have to watch out for teams like the dodgers the padres always seem like they don't care what's going on they'll sign you but like i feel like the mets if they didn't give him the qo they could have found a way to like pick him back up in free agency so that was shocking but like i pitcher we know that cece sabathy was the ace and the horse the yankees finally needed they got him they also got the best first baseman arguably in baseball at the time and they also traded for people always forget this nick swisher was supposed to be our first baseman and he had a great year in right field became the right fielder so there was a lot of smart things done so the yankees that year think about it they traded some prospects and they spent money that's what they have to do but see look when li and i love you bro but when you say things like spending money doesn't work for the yankees but that's their advantage and that's the problem that's why i get so frustrated that's why francis gets frustrated we talked about this all year long deadline and all that stuff the yankees have the advantage of having a good farm system and having money things teams like the dodgers and only a few clubs can really say the red sox the mets well the metsy whatever but they can do these things the yankees can do that it's the way you go about doing it is is the real problem here peraza look cashman said he could start it short now defensively defensively he could hit yeah trust me he can hit at that level all last year everybody told me they said pete this kid is ready now he could come up right now that's why i said at the end of the year i thought he should have been called up because everybody you hear from says this kick a hit right now at this level and be very good at this level so debating that or not it really doesn't matter but the yankees should spend money they should call guys up when they have to they should run it like the rays run it but with the added part that they can spend hundreds of million dollars in contracts so i'm really happy that you bring up to spend so many hundreds of millions of dollars to contend when you have teams like tampa bay who contend at like 60 million and i responded um saying it's very simple franchises organizations are built to survive in their environments right tampa bay has to survive at 60 million in payroll 70 million 50 million in payroll because they are bred to do so they were not bred to spend that kind of money they don't have that financial wherewithal that the yankees do that the dodgers do so they are out they obviously had to pivot to something different they had to find a way to compete so what did they do they went and got some people who thought outside of the box smart guys they got some nerves they got people who could get more out of less and that's how they put their team together they became a scrappy organization who gets more out of uh out of less and then when a player is reaching that moment where they get expensive even in arbitration they ship them out for the next young guy who's going to come up and they can get more out of for less facts the yankees are not bred to do that so as much as i i was on the bandwagon this year saying like we got to call up these kids or whatever i was saying that because in the moment we didn't have another choice we did not have another option you can't like in the middle of the year a big free agent signing doesn't normally happen so you got to go with what you got at the time and we had guys who were in our farm system doing well that i thought deserved a shot but in the off season we shouldn't be approaching the offseason the way tampa bay approaches and off seas of course not because we are bred to survive in a different arena our environment is the environment of the los angeles dodgers it's the environment of the padres right now it's the environment of the right that the that the red sox are in that the mets want to be in i mean they say they're in but we have to see right that environment where it's like this is and we have a decent farm system and money the ideal situation is to have both why do i say that because the money can get you a shortstop a center fielder maybe a starting pitcher the prospects can get you your first baseman some relief arms and maybe a catcher you imagine making all of those changes in the same off-season and only three of the new players costed money because you got the other three with prospects that's right that's that's what prospects can do for you yep right but we can't we can't hug we can't hug on to them and tell them on our arm when they're in playing low a no come know be dumb other teams are involved but we don't know to what extent because while he makes sense for other teams the other teams also have a lot of ways that they can pivot a lot of options that didn't he or more than that yeah tatis signed a 14-year 340 million dollar extension okay so what happens see what we don't see when this happens like and i was one of the people out there fernando tati's got extended i was like hey man you don't congrats get your money or whatever but guys like open your eyes because this this is gonna this is gonna send shockwaves through the industry when you sign a kid who hasn't proven and tatis is great so please don't misunderstand me but tatis hasn't won an mvp tatis hasn't won a world series ring right tatis hasn't had a crate like you know i mean like a crazy postseason run and when i say crazy post season run i'm not talking about a wild card game or a nlds i mean an nlds nlcs and a couple good games in the world series like i mean something like that tatis hasn't even been to a world series like he got extended because of what they imagine he's going to do as a player and what they know for sure he's going to do in terms of like sales and stuff right but 340 million for him 341 million for francisco lindor it just shows you what's happening with the market lindor got 341 million for the sole purpose of being able to say he got more his group the rosen group is gonna sit back and say that they're not trying to get at least 342 we have another thing coming no no question about it that's a win that's a win for the agency too exactly signed the largest contract ever at that position exactly exactly and this is why i keep telling people like with juan soto like as much as as much as we like some people hate him they think he's a fan of whatever we're boris or whatever boris is already planning to make to make to make juan soto the first 500 million dollar contract you guys might think that sounds absolutely crazy no it doesn't it's not lindor is a great player switch hitting shortstop you know saying nice smile looks good in the jersey he's good for commercials he's good for advertising he he checks all the boxes you want right been to the playoffs been there done that clutch a little bit 341 million dollars was a lot of money for him it was a lot of money for him but they had to go there because they had to go there because tati's got it yep and then the mets got suckered into it because he was there and he gave them a deadline and they didn't have the proper leadership kind of negotiating that deal and they folded they felt they felt the pressure of the fans they felt the pressure of everybody and they said oh my god we traded for this guy we gave up rosario whatever and now we're going to risk losing them and he's going to go to that that crazy mark of the short stops next year and then anything can happen you know what 341 fine give it to him yeah well now the repercussions of that is that corey secret's going to want 300 million of course and who are and who are who who are we to say that he can't get 300 million when francisco and doris sitting there with 341. trump can you argue like complete that's the market that's the most all they're going to do the market i mean it's all about the market you're 100 right now now who now no does that mean that i agree with the money that they get no no i first of all i fall on the same side of the coin that pete does i think a lot of these contracts are blown with i love gary cole i think that garrett co-contract is absolutely [ __ ] needed gary cole he's supposed to be here and i still believe he's going to be a part of a championship winning new york yankees team so i pay him what i'm saying is that these numbers have gotten inflated and blown completely out of proportion and that's why we're in a situation where whether you think corey secret is worth 300 million or not whether you think that correa is worth 300 million or not is all secondary because they're agents and the players association because if you you guys think you hate scott boris that's the dead of worst the players association they're not going to make things you think you hate scott boris you don't even realize the guy you really hate is tony clark because i love one thing i love that fan says well maybe they'll just give a discount no they're there there's no such thing and they don't do things like that let me tell you something right now marketing value is something and they they looked at oh want to take this deal a lot no it don't work tony clark will die before he allows aaron freaking judge just to sign a low ball deal to stay on the new york yankees are you kidding me he said aaron we already bought your trip to uh to san players is if you aaron judge who's one of the top five best players in the game top three top three in some circles if you take a pay cut on your extension just because you're 30 and had a couple of a year like this is all before they have extended aaron judge an extension offer or signed him in free agency after next year um this is all while still having a team that needs a first baseman needs a short stop needs an upgrade in center field and and catcher right that a team that also has a left fielder in joey gallo who's a free agent after this year so when you factor all of that in what does that tell you that tells you that you do need financial flexibility even if you're the new york yankees that doesn't mean that doesn't mean that the yankees aren't going to raise their payroll up to 250 260 270 280 even 290. that doesn't mean that i don't want there's a lot of people who when they hear when they heard oh they don't want to sign a 300 million deal oh that means that they want to stay under the luxury tax again no no that these are two different things the luxury tax thing is cumulative of all the contracts that you have on your roster right a 300 million dollar contract is for one player what hal says if he is indeed saying i don't want to sign another 300 million deal what he's indeed saying is i don't want to be committing 30 million dollars to another guy right now correct because i already commit 36 to garrett i already commit almost 30 to john carlo i'm already committing another 30 to two relievers and he's also apparently a big judge fan so that he he wants judges to stay there for the long term exactly well he would he would he would basically the thing about how steinberg everything i've hear and everything i've been told i was told i think during mid-season when i put that video out literally the person told me if you get if you asked him right now to write out the 25 man roster he wouldn't be able to do it so that's his interest in the day-to-day operations of this ball club but when you're a fan of a player and he's a fan of aaron judge that's the one thing i hear about a lot that he really likes aaron judge and he wants to lock him up long term he has he has a a invested interest in possibly giving something like that to aaron judge yeah when he wouldn't have that with the carlos correa or somebody else right now well listen god that's that's that that's another point right because when you add up all that money that i was just saying they already have committed they still haven't signed judge to his deal and though we've been critical about the fact that they haven't started those extension talks and things like that or whatever make no mistake about it we do believe that the yankees are going to be in on aaron judge and try to keep him long-term of course guys it the only thing like it's not really hard to see the only thing you have to do is look and look at right field like the whole judges chambers things of whatever look at how long jeter was a yankee they never put a there wasn't a section in the seats called the captain's corner or something like that like for the yankees to go and do what they did in right field for aaron judge that was a huge huge thing that was very unyankee like i was really surprised when i saw that happen and i said whoa they really are crazy about this kid so that all says to me that they are going to try and keep this guy especially if hal says i don't care what you do that's my guy he needs to be on this team that means that they could end up even overpaying for judge what do you think eight years minimum korea signs between ten and twelve years and maybe he has an op-ed after three years or two yeah you never know three three four maybe and i mean you think six seven eight around there i think the same thing for seeger six seven or eight it's a big commitment to somebody that's a big commitment listen carlos correa just turned 27. carlos correa is going to get 10 years or more facts no doubt about it and i think corey seeger i think corey seeger is only like a year older than correa at 28. so he's another one who's gonna get 10 years maybe another year or something like that these are 10-year contracts listen i again i will tell you guys this if i had if i had you know my my way the yankees sign carlos correa and the reason behind it is because he's the best shortstop there he's the best shortstop there and i don't believe that cashman is going to make the amount of trades that it would take for me to be like oh i'm cool like you know not getting the best shortstop out there or whatever because i just don't see cashman doing that because he's been a prospect hugger for as long as we've seen him but that could all be different now we don't like you know that if you're moving off of luke voight there then you need to get a guy like first base is not a position where you can sacrifice the offense but you also cannot sacrifice a defense contrary to popular belief especially not when you have guys in the infield like labor tourists so first base either needs to be matt olson or anthony rizzo the fan base will accept nothing less than those two guys if dj lemayo is starting for his basement or luke voight by some stretch of the imagination imagine imagination is the first baseman next year that is a huge failure can i say one thing about that can i give a different opinion on that sure i have actually been on the favor side of if dj lemayo does play somewhere else let it be first base but you gotta upgrade everywhere else that shortstop at center field there's only there's a limited number of things that are available to the yankees at center field right now either we sign starling marte or maybe take a look at conforto or what is going on everybody pete simonetti here for nyy news the offseason is here you guys know and man oh man shortstop is the position that everybody's talking about from your beat writers to your mainstream reporters to your youtube content creators to fans to bandwagon fans and right smack dab in the middle of that are our beloved new york yankees who are they gonna go for you know the mainstream guys say it is correa or it's seeger that is what everybody believes right now so i'm not gonna talk much about corey seeger today because i definitely want to hit on carlos correa and i also want to hit on a uh rumor so to say or news i have been told by three different people now and you know well we'll get to that towards the end let's right now focus on carlos correa and and a little bit i'll start off with corey seeger a little bit we know the pluses on corey seeger right world series champion that's left-handed makes a lot of contact overall a good player we know he's not the greatest defender at shortstop the yankees believe they could move him over to third base he could play well there and um you know you don't want that middle infield defense of being labor torres and corey seeger it's not gonna be the best up the middle in baseball no doubt about that but again he got the accolades right he got the world series title he seems like he's a winner he's a good ball player good teammate all those good things we hear about corey seeger carlos correa and by the way before i jump any further on that one i'd be happy with seeger i wouldn't be upset about him most uh i i believe passing rosenthal only i think they all believe that seeger sherman is going to be a yankee they feel like that's the guy they eventually go for carlos correa i like the player i love the player i tell you off the bat one of the things i love most about carlos correa is he's edgy he has a pearl he has an attitude the yankees need a little edginess i talked about it when i said about them getting robbie ray he's a bulldog he'll go out there go after you if he needs to talk a little bit if he has to you know the yankees need that type of edge aaron judge you know isn't really hated by other people he's not really the enemy he tried to do something sometimes with the boombox and all that didn't really pay off or work out too well but aaron judge doesn't come across at all as the enemy you know he doesn't he doesn't have that persona about him now correa on the other hand people are going to hate him you know what i mean and if he's on the yankees they're going to hate us they're going to hate us they're going to hate that we got this guy and i know fans right away are going to bring up well he cheated and the team cheated and the astros astros astros did this correa said that you know correa's had some comments about derek jeter recently on whatever it was saying that you know he didn't deserve those gold gloves and things like that but you know brian cashman grace with him you know brian cashman had a lot of things to say about jeter towards the end of his career during those negotiations so i mean hey it is what it is i mean people could say what they want they can have their opinions um but we know what correa does good right he's a great defensive shortstop uh platinum gold glove winner platinum glove winner excuse me uh terrific overall uh does everything well in the field flashy does it all makes the easy plays makes the hard plays he's the best defensive shortstop of the crop that's available great arm great glove again everything there checks out a plus uh great bat big postseason hitter we know that we've seen that time and time again edgy to me is a pro some people see it as a con i see it as a major pro footage ball club cons i guess kind of what you hear i guess the fan a lot of the fan base uh you know they said aaron judge doesn't want him here and come on brian cashman isn't doing his job if that's even in his consideration gotta improve the ball club simple as that so for me as i said before call up with uh with corey seeger i like him a lot i also like corey uh i also like carlos um carlos correa no problem with either one of those guys signing with the yankees i have no problem at all we know it's going to take a lot of money most people project 300 plus for the both of them and we'll see those negotiations go uh from what i hear i've had a lot of people tell me that they feel that it is also gonna be correa or seeger that those are the two yankees are truly going after hard now i talk to on a weekly basis when i started i was about three now it's about five or six guys who who i trust who have given me good information there's three of them who i i truly trust one of them's a newer one who is um who's a friend who's really good he knows his basically uh been there and done that too so three of these people have told me this three of them have flat out told me hal steinberger is not gonna sign another 300 million dollar deal we'll see where that goes but i've had three people tell me the same exact thing he will not sign a 300 plus million dollar contract knowing that he wants aaron judges to stay a yankee he wants aaron judge to stay a yankee and he's not going to lock somebody in for 300 plus million dollars those three other people have also told me do not believe the whole idea that the yankees have soured on trevor's story they told me all three of them said they think that is the short stop the yankees actually land trevor story because again i don't like to get into the estimations of money and all that i just never really liked that stuff of guessing that um but it's very much expected that story is going to get a lot less than seeger or correa so the yankees mindset there could be maybe we can upgrade center field with a martay maybe we can upgrade first base you know maybe we can do some different things with saving a little bit of money or not going as crazy as we expected but really putting extra production into the into the batting order that's not necessarily trade driven would you you know got your play with that also afterwards but i've heard that from three different people and these are three good people these are three people that that know their that have been right many times before so we'll see what happens but again the other people i talked to seemed to fall in line with your rosenthals and those guys that said they fully expect the yankees to go to possibly payrolls 260 70 80 maybe even 90. so you know everybody i talked to personally to on dms they asked me oh pete what are they gonna do what are they gonna do i tell everybody the same thing there's a ton of conflicting stuff out there right now there's a ton of it i can give you what i think could happen but there's a ton of conflicting things out there right now what that just tells me is that the yankees have their hands all over the place right now they're trying to figure out what would be the best fit they're trying to figure out how the off season goes if brian cashman is really doing his job guys that's the way to go about it right now there's a lot of changes that need to be made in this club and if you're just focusing hard on one or two guys it's not usually what gm's do anyway but he needs to have his cards on the table and he also needs to have a really good template with some with some really good ideas on it of uh twists and turns that can happen in this offseason we know teams like detroit are gonna be you know spending some money we know texas are to be spending some money so it really depends on how many guys you know want to win or want the money more and it's never going to be a i don't think it'll ever be a gigantic gap of a difference but you know is it possible that seeger signs for under 300 maybe correa i don't see so as much i think somebody's gonna offer him that maybe not who knows uh story definitely he's gonna sign under 300 that we know it might sign under 200 or probably will i think most estimations have him signing under 200 million so it depends it depends it's a very interesting time for the yankees i do know that there's definitely interest in correa we know to this interest in seeger and you don't got to take my word for that take the mainstream guys out there if you want to believe them that's fine and again if you hear me saying don't count out trevor's story that is me telling you guys what i've been told and there's not a lot of mainstream guys out there saying they're saying that they have soured on them i'm hearing that it's not necessarily true so we'll see what happens on the market with story but i'll tell you what depending on what else they do i wouldn't mind story too much very good defender plays a lot not usually out due to injury and things of that nature of you guys one of the stats i brought up earlier about carlos correa is and this is not me you know knocking him or saying uh don't go after him a lot of yankee fans when they talk about aaron judging an extension they like to say well we don't know if that's the best idea because he's injury prone and he's this and he's that since 2017 aaron judges played 45 i mean i messed that up didn't i 45 more games than carlos correa has since 2017 once judge became a regular he has played 45 more games than carlos correa so that's an interesting stat because you don't hear that much about carlos correa that he's injured a lot and and things of that nature you don't really hear about that a lot um you do hear about it a bit with corey seeger but um you don't hear much about carlos correa but he's you know he's had his his fair share over there so you know um um for the people saying that the yankee fans saying that specifically you know hold your horses a little bit guys hold your horses a little bit so overall guys i wouldn't mind any one of those three i'm just telling you what i'm here to say is don't count out a deal for trevor story don't be upset if the yankees don't get one of those top two there's a lot of ways this offseason could go that's why it's so interesting that's why you got so much conflicting reports out there but i'll tell you what don't be shocked when you hear that the yankees have met with his agents or there's been conversation there or a rumor starts up trevor story the yankees tried to trade for him remember at the deadline uh the rockies played it horribly we know that they wanted too much from everybody they end up not trading them at all just a horrible job by the rockies but the yankees were one of the last remaining teams in there trying to get trevor story so and then they obviously turn to anthony rizzo and brings them over so it'll be very interesting to see again great options out there love the edge that court that uh that carlos correa could bring to this club i think it's very needed and and we know who corey seeger is we know the type of bat what that would do to this yankee lineup and how much more dynamic it would make it any of these guys makes the yankees offense better one we know that uh the pros usually really outweigh the cons for all of these guys in my opinion especially upgrading what our shortstop has been so that would be a major upgrade either way so guys again in the comment correa seeger and story and think about money too you know think think of you being in the seat there what you would do would it open up a chance for the yankees if they got a guy like trevor story to what is going on everybody pete simonetti here for nyy news the off season daily daily has something going on today is a player that you guys if you are a regular subscriber got so many new subscribers so thank you guys so much but if you have been a regular or if you've watched me and never subscribed and you still don't and hopefully you do but if you have watched me for a long time you're going to be familiar with this name because i've told you guys the yankees have had interest before now it's being confirmed again by a lot of the mainstream guys um brian reynolds pittsburgh pirates it's becoming a daily rumor and if they don't get him now it'll continue to be a daily rumor until he's traded because the one thing we know for a fact with pittsburgh is this guy is an elite ball player he's young he's eventually gonna come due and he'll be moved whether it's at arbitration or before that he'll be moved uh when it gets to that time it's the pittsburgh pirates they're not gonna hold on to a superstar unless they somehow lock him up early but eventually brian reynolds will be traded so it's either gonna be a constant story for years to come or it's gonna be something that pops off now and it could make some sense so for the fans first of all who do not know who brian reynolds is pittsburgh pirates center fielder young 26 years old will be 27 next year on the season had a six war had a career high with 24 homers 302 average uh eight triples 20 again 24 home runs 90 rbis five stolen bases 75 walks on base percentage 390 batting average 302 as i said slugging 522 ops 912. this is a terrific ball player 35 doubles again good center fielder also just uh 2022 projection has him again having a solid year uh that's with the pirates so again with the team like the yankees it would be very interesting to see how those projections would change i'm definitely we're bad at the top of the order uh would be tremendous but let me go ahead and just kind of level set with you guys here i know a lot of good people in pittsburgh um it's actually one of the teams where if again you guys have paid attention to me and have watched me for a while you would know i always have good information on pittsburgh whether it comes back to the time of the cold trade whether it's jamison tyone um whatever it may be when the yankees are dealing with pittsburgh um just as recently as last year when clay holmes i was the probably one of the only guys saying everybody hold on a second i got some great information on who this guy is and we saw he was actually elite and that's what i was told when they got him like it was oh pete you know hold up a second you guys actually got a pitcher who is really really good and the only reason why i got that information is to have really good connections out there with guys in pittsburgh who know the team see the team watch the team are very familiar with the way they go about their business so one of the things i've heard about today when i asked about it was quite simple they'll listen the pirates will listen if a team comes to the table and blows them away and they know that they can replace reynolds and then add immediately within the next one to two years because if you guys don't know the pirates people hear the pirates and are just like uh it's the pirates who cares no no no no no wait a second the pirates have legitimate players coming up they got cruz at short gonzalez coming up at second base could play third i believe also um again you know about uh keep ryan hayes already they got uh davis who's one of the they just drafted as a catcher is going to be ready soon then i mean they got a lot of swaggerties another guy heads another guy in the outfield uh quinn priester um former yankee contreras uh terrage i think his name is i forgot his last name but he's another starting pitching prospect um something like that his name is i forget how to say his name but point is they got a lot of good going for them when it comes to guys coming up um and a lot of those guys are very very close so you're looking at within 2022 to 2023 these guys are going to be ready so when you look at a trade like this you look at it from the pirates perspective we don't have to trade brian reynolds we have no reason to trade we might be able to win with him at least become contenders with him and they could that's not a joke that's not me being that's not be you know joking about this the pirates have a chance to be a contender in the next two to three years no doubt about it um if they get lucky and these guys come up and perform next year 2023 they could fight and be a much better club uh i think the main 2024 2025 potentially they could they could really be a very very good squad so looking at that at the pirates point of view okay we'll consider it we know some clubs got great farm systems one of the clubs that are also interested in rentals per reports i can't really speak for other clubs but perta reports of the mainstream guys are the mariners the mariner's got a ton of prospects one of the best systems in the game so if the mariners approach them and go well we'll give you this this this this and that one three four seven and eight on our pool or maybe a guy that's already at the level you guys like you know we can we can talk about that the one good thing that the yankees also do have because i'm not a mariners channel of course i'm gonna speak on what the yankees trade would have to be is if you could convince the pirates and say to them well we're getting one of your major leaguers i would like to add stallings in on that but i'll get i'll get to that later i would like to give you all multiple major leaguers for your one major leaguer and they're also controllable what that could mean is first of all one of your top guys gotta be in there and i'm almost gonna hold out peraza on this deal because i think that's an olsen thing and the yankees can still build on that but just speaking of this so if i add peraza forget the olsen stuff for now this is just a video based on what it could take right now to get reynolds if if if these are all ifs because again guys you know i don't like doing all the trade stuff but what you're looking at is saying okay one of our best prospects is jason dominguez we'll entertain that well entertain dominguez you guys like them cool but how i'm going to try to convince you of this deal is that dominguez isn't ready so he's not going to help that pool of where you guys think you contend soon you're looking at 2024 2025 that'd be ready which could actually be a great time for your organization what we will do is supply you right now with guys who are already close to being ready very very close estevan floriel could immediately take over in center field luis heal could immediately jump into the rotation davy garcia could immediately jump into a rotation or a bullpen clark schmidt the same thing and these are still top prospects but then we got prospects luis medina oswald peraza they already got a lot set up on the infield so i don't know how interested they would be in a guy like peraz i'm sure he still would be but medina heal um oswaldo cabrera could potentially be a starter this year um everson pierre could also be an outfielder very very close to being ready so the point here is if you can convince them to say look we can actually supply you with two to three cost-effective guys at the major league level right now or within next year that you can build upon if that's something that's attractive to the pirates which if i were to pirates it would be because if i could say okay i'll trade reynolds i already have his replacement in center field with estevan floreal who may hit for more power he pro he'll bat less he's not the same player but he could supply us with a lot of power he could also surprise everybody and be very good as i believe he will become we know his glove is great in center field we know he has an arm we know he can run so he's going to steal us more bases than reynolds does he could potentially for more power yeah he's gonna strike out more yeah he's gonna bat lower but we're not contending next year this kid may turn into a really good ball player we know jason dominguez is down the line we know what that talent looks like that's a blue chip prospect louise heal fits into our rotation very nice now at rusny contreras maybe keller gets it going finally brutabaker maybe we got something a little something going on there quinn priester isn't far away i like the sound of that i like the sound of that oswaldo cabrera could play all over maybe he's almost ready to go so a lot of good there a lot of ways you could make it make sense for the pirates i still believe the more realistic guy so francis actually sent me this india he's like pete would you give up the top top guys if they added stallings also so he's talking about volpe and everybody else i'm like whoa that's a tough one with if i entertain that you must have the other guys involved also and what i mean by that is you gotta know you're signing hey everybody what is going on pete simonetti here for ny news i know we did a live chat yesterday but guys news is hot this off season already and i gotta talk about it so i had a good conversation this morning with somebody very much in the know of the yankees thinking and the great thing i got about this because you guys know i haven't i wouldn't say i've been negative but i've been down on the talk and we're gonna do this and we got latitude and all these other things that brian cashman says i'm all about action this team we know they got to make changes we saw the deadline they recognized the righties were too much they brought some lefties in there's hope here that there may be significant changes i'm telling you this right now because i am told that brian cashman's approach this year is very different in the regard right now i don't know much about the money side we'll take him at his word for that we'll see where that goes but again even the way he said that yesterday could really go anyway but i am told the table is is is empty the prospect pool is to the side he opens the bag up lifts it up and pours them all on the table and goes let's play games here let's play ball that's what i'm told including some other pieces the man this video is about briefly labor taurus i'm told by my best guy don't be shocked if gleber taurus is moved his reasoning is he's the guy still that a lot of teams want and brian cashman isn't backing down from that there has been no har line drawn in the sand that says glaber's untouchable we're not doing it now again labor may not be moved and cashmere will come out and say you know he's an untouchable we like him we want to do this but my understanding is for some of the big names out there your olsons whatever anthony volpe yankees really love this kid because they feel like he's the next jeter and they feel like he's very capable of moving to third or second base if he really needs to they do feel his yankees go this offseason really determines how their infield's going to look let's play a game yankees trade for olsen let's say gleber's not part of that deal let me tell you why he probably should be trade for olsen they signed corey seeger and now you're looking around going um we also you know gave a lot of money and years to dj lemayo we know he was hurt last year defense wasn't bad wherever he played really he's best at second base we know that but he was injured we got an excuse for him we'll see how he does when he's healthy but we kind of know who this guy is so what do we do with him he's the least value of dj lemayo is moving him off second base you drop his value to your own club third base first of all he's not great great defensively there he's good he's passable but he's not dj lemayo at second base who's arguably one of the best second base defenders in the league and at first base i've been on record of saying i think he'd do good i think it would be his other best position second or first i think is our best position but second by far so you brought in seeger who's not great defensively we know that not terrible he's average maybe he's slightly above slightly below however you feel however you see the eye test and then of course analytic numbers however you want to look at those but the best infield at that moment would be geo back at third or you know you got kyle seeger out there who's a good third baseman also another lefty there's a lot of things you could do there but let's just say let's just go with geo geo at third see your short second base you got glabor there first base you got olsen your middle of the order of the line of the of the field is not good now replace that and say you got geo seeger dj and olsen boy so this is big news because look if the yankees recognize something to that level i'm on record i'm on record you guys know this i'm on record i've said it the yankees come out there they dump gary sanchez i am getting hyped for this offseason but if they keep the same guys around i'm not getting hyped i got a feeling to be one or two and that's it and that's not enough i've been saying that but it's good to know that cashman is very willing to wheel and deal and he's very willing to deal guys that he acquired we know what cashman's ego is that is legit anybody would tell you that anybody would tell you cashman's ego gets one stone there you're getting a legitimate legitimate first baseman only makes about 8 million and a starting pitching starting pitcher to go into your rotation that i i on record also saying i think you need to then you got money to play with then you got seeger maybe correa maybe a center fielder maybe starlin marte in a three-year deal two years in an option i don't know higher aav you also got the potential of an extension of aaron judge oh here we go the best yankee infield has dj lemayo at second base can't deny that there's no way no way and no form of denying that the best yankee infield is digital mayor second base so without you know going any further i'm gonna get back to doing what i do i'll get videos will come immediately if there's information but the news i have right now is that brian cashman the war room for brian cashman has all of his soldiers on the field that may be a little hesitant with one guy and that's volpe they don't want to move but my understanding is everybody including glaber torres is on the table gleber torres could be on the move that will be very very interesting to see if it plays out that way but it's good to know that early talks have have you engaged with the representatives for the free agent shortstop i started yeah i mean i i slowly because we're doing dealing with coaching stuff but but uh i've already you know had two conversations with two just two separate conversations with two separate you know uh players that represent short agents that represent short stops just so so it is now being reported that the shortstops the ages of the shortstops that brian cashman is talking to it's been confirmed now by people don't really think this guy's credible but i'm going to give him the benefit of doubt jim bolden tweeted out that according to sources the yankees are in conversations with agents for both corey seeger and carlos correa hashtag confirmed now this doesn't come as a big surprise we all know the yankees would be interested in corey seeger and carlos correa specifically those two in my honest opinion uh cause korea has the higher leverage here as garrett cole was one of his former teammates and look i don't really like i don't really want justin verlander on this ball club if you listen to my uh previous video i explained it in detail but even verlander with garrett cole been a yankee we've all seen that uh garrett cole has some sort of pull when it comes to acquiring his former friends uh take uh taiyon as if for an example in um homes for an example so realistically we all know that gary cole has some sort of influence when it comes to let's say the yankees coming to him and asking him a question what do you think about these guys and he's going to give his honest opinion so for an example if the yankees ring up coal and ask him what do you what do you think about these guys what do you think about carlos correa how would you think he would fit as a yankee what do you think about rurlander how how do you think he would fit as a yankee we all know the answer right he's going to vouch for them former teammates that's why i see carlos correa having higher leverage than a corey seeger not only because of that i really explained it in detail if you guys want to see my previous video but if you didn't um carlos korea when i he has the numbers when it counts you see his postseason numbers it's about one i would say similar to seeger i'll saying 25 percent better if you compare those stats and i'm not trying to take anything away from seeger but my intuition says that the yankees if they're searching for a short stop carlos correa is number one on their list so yankees fans that has been the breaking news the confirmed agents brian cashman has been talking to happen to be agents of cory sieger and carlos correa so yankees fans like always leave your opinions in the comment section below this has been felix from mly news.com share like and subscribe and i will check you on me

since they won the world series and it's amazing they want it without utilizing a whole bunch of players that they don't for an example like johan carmago who is a sleeper might i add a switch hitter third baseman utility infielder that the braves barely utilize and they did it without acuna either so congratulations to the atlanta braves it doesn't matter well it doesn't matter how many games you win in the regular season but it matters when you get hot and get on a roll the braves certainly proved that and so did the uh washington nationals in 2019 so again it's that time of the year again the hot stove that time of the year where yankees fans in particular are on the edge of their seats waiting for the yankees to act like the yankees and you know sign everybody and their mother if you ask me that's what's going to happen you have a whole bunch of disgruntled fans out there and what better way to make a splash and let's say sign a carlos correa i don't think the yankees are going to sign seeger i think they're going to sign correa to be honest with you guys yes uh seeger is a left-handed bat but carlos correa has the numbers when it counts his post season numbers are incredible and uh the houston astros uh insulted him i mean you know 30 million dollars per year but the years weren't there it's not that insulting when we're talking about money and we're just regular people not making that kind of money but it's pretty insulting when you offer a guy in like calls correa that kind of contract after what he did for your franchise you could call him like a franchise player as well so uh yeah uh carl's career is not resigning with the astros also for an example you got guys in the minor leagues like volpe peraza waiting for their shot volpe has a lot of uh fans out there rightfully so he's been performing he's basically the best uh farmhand that the yankees have and if you sign a guy like uh calls correa he has the body frame to move over to third base and again you guys know that i would love the idea of carlos correa on his team i've been saying it for over three years now when it was the unpopular thing to say and plus i like it even more because it triggers these um screw correct he's a cheater i don't want him on my team he bit the yankees by cheating you know it triggers those kinds of fans but um you know the astros have reached the world series over and over again after that scandal so and carlos correa's numbers are still there when it counts the postseason and you could say he's a semi uh all-star in the regular season i'm not saying they didn't cheat but obviously carlos correa's numbers weren't that affected that much you know like his arm his defense that guy has a cannon for an arm he's just clutch he has the uh the attitude of a player that i want on this specific team see i've been complaining a lot that this team is soft they need a boater like carlos correa simple as that so moving along there's talk out there that the yankees or i haven't heard this specifically that the yankees would be interested in signing a verlander you see back in 2017 i took a lot of flank when it came to the yankees training for sunny gray or the uh talk that they wanted to trade for sunny grey was between vern lander and gray and a whole bunch of people are pushing sunny gray to the bronx even the new big newspapers i'll give credit to the yes network they were actually pushing for a justin berlander but some long story put short i told my boy pete i said hey the team that trains for vern lander they're going to be your 2017 world series champions and bam it happened i was 100 pushing for the yankees to trade for verlander but if you ask me today do i like to see verlander as a yankee i would have to tell you no you see this is going to rum some people the wrong way but i'm going to be 100 real the 2022 season is going to be an experiment for garrett cole as we saw his numbers get wacky after uh sticky substances being banned there's been talk in the past that justin bernlander is that same kind of picture that he needs help with the grip gripping the baseball so i would not like a 39 38 year old joining the yankees when i know he's that same kind of picture and i'm not trying to bash garrett cole i'm not just trying to experiment with two guys and knowing that justin verlander is an all-star type picture imagine if he implosion in new york this guy's just going to get destroyed so yeah in 2021 and juan used felix is now passing on justin rolander after being a fanboy of his back in 2017. moving along luis castillo and i'm going to tell you this i'm going to take credit for sparking that rumor that got so big that the rest gm had to come out and say uh luis castillo is not on a trade market i'll take credit for that i've made numerous videos about louise castillo but he's another one he had a weird finish as well he finished about one eight and 16 or something like that but his numbers were somewhat there was he another picture affected by the sticky substance ban who knows there's a lot of talk that it's going to be added or whatever taken out of the negotiations the cba where they're going to put a better grip on the baseball i don't know but it seems to me these uh power pictures you know curveball pictures were basically destroyed by uh this band so who knows if they uh allow these pictures to somewhat get a better grip on the baseball with these negotiations we we don't even know if there's going to be a season in 2022 who knows but if you ask me if luis castillo's out there i've made plenty of videos about him i always wanted him as a yankee but something tells me that brian cashman is not that smart and he's going to pass on him hey maybe he could prove me wrong but brian cashman his credibility with me has gone down the drain for obvious reasons and when i say me i mean mostly the yankees fans out there yes luis castillo is available confirmed by the reds themselves let's see now moving along to the first base situation do you resign rizzo do you make a trade with the half linux for an olson or do you move dj la mayhew who's going to be a yankee for seasons to come do you move him to first base permanently you see here's my take i had this opinion a few weeks ago you trade glamour torres you make that train with the oakland a's you sign the calls correa and boom that's your uh 2022 infield uh matt austin dj lemay who at second base carlos correa at shortstop and geo urchella at third it's that simple play dj lemay here in his natural position you have a chip and taurus you could basically include them in the package for any player out there and you know matt austin would fit perfectly in the bronx that swing would dominate in the bronx and he's on the trade market so yeah i would do it uh nice knowing you glabor wrapping this up here's the time here's the players that i wouldn't like the yankees to obtain just wrapping it up from what i was saying earlier matt olson carlos correa and maybe a luis castillo all these players one of these players you get via free agency two of these players to get retreat and oh yeah i just reminded myself of this that luis rojas the former manager of the mets is potentially going to join the new york yankees as a third base coach or whatever and a lot of yankees fans hated that idea or hate that idea why it is a positive in my opinion bringing in a dominican coach are these guys forgetting about tony pena luis rojas comes from a baseball family do you guys forget who his father is so hell yeah i like that idea bring him over here he's going to help a lot of latin players on this ball club i'm not saying the yankees don't have latino coaches like mendoza but this guy there's a whole bunch of dominicans playing for you guys so yes make it happen it's close to happening but yes make it happen i know there's a lot of players that are left out if you guys want to uh leave your what is going on everybody pete simonetti here for ny news guys starting pitching has not been a major topic of conversation really among a lot of yankee fans um there's a lot of yankee fans out there who want them to add but there are some who are kind of in that mold right now that last year we pitched well so you know maybe we invest elsewhere guys i have always been very very big on adding to your rotation look it's cute some guys did well last year right you don't know if that's gonna happen again you want arms arms arms that's what this video is about today talking about some of the news and the rumors of what is going on out there the first one being we'll jump right into it justin verlander is working out um at creasy's spot who eric creasy as he knows with the new york yankees one of the main reasons why the yankees got kluber they kind of got the quick heads up on it and all signs point that verlander looked absolutely terrific in his showcase throwing mid 90s still uh he's going to be 39 years old so i mean where we are right now i don't know how i personally feel about verlander i think he gets more than just a one-year deal i think he gets a two or three-year deal to be honest um or a year in an option but i think maybe a year in an option maybe it but i expect him to get a two-year deal and is that best for the yankees i know you know the tigers are involved there's going to be teams involved there with a lot of teams there to watch verlander pitch so for me you know i wouldn't be against it against it now if you guys remember when the astros got verlander the yankees got sunny grey back in the day i always give my boy felix credit cause felix told me pete whoever gets justin verlander is winning the world series and he told me he says sunny gray's not gonna be good here i was all for sonny gray i thought it was a terrific deal we know how that went i even think felix himself is not as comfortable with verlander right now than he even was back then i mean we were talking about multiple years ago but as a back end guy and that's kind of maybe what you get him for and kind of depend and see where he's at if you have that luxury if you go all pitching maybe and then you make some trades for the offense maybe that's something you do maybe that's something you do but um for me as of right now i'd be okay with it but i wouldn't be jumping up and down to go get this guy he wouldn't be my primary target he's something more on the back end the numbers look right you go for it but for now let's move on to the next guy luis castillo this is one that the yankees have been connected to before a rumor got so out of hand that the gm i think was was it last year the year before had to come out and be like yeah he's not being traded like calm down everybody this is a fake rumor but um it got so like crazy out of hand that this could happen and he just came out like yeah shut up drop drop the mic it's over this is not this is not happening um but luis castillo's another very very good talent got off to a rough start pitched really really well i think he pitched under a three era for like the remainder of the second half maybe even a little before the second half uh started so he has been terrific we know who this guy is it's gonna take a pretty decent haul to get a guy like luis castillo i believe he's a free agent after 2023 so you got two full seasons with him this is the type of move that you know a team like the yankees look to make they want to make moves like this you got some control he's not too expensive yet and you go from there he could be a legitimate ace he could be a one two three wherever you want him in there yankees have a chance now i personally believe to have a top three that is terrific and i'll tell you what i think it's gonna be what i hope it's gonna be and we'll go from there but that rumor came out because cincinnati is looking to shed salary and they've basically opened up the field and say look we'll deal any of these guys including luis castillo will move this guy if it's a deal if the deal is right for us and it looks good we will not be concerned to make this move so again luis castillo's on the table you're probably looking at multiple top prospects in this deal if that deal were to happen and the yankees take that route rumor is there's already teams you know reaching out seeing what it's going to look like what that deal could take the yankees have the prospects there's no doubt about that they got the players of the major league roster to that you know cincinnati may have some interest in they do trade with each other so that's a familiar thing if you guys watch the conversation with kevin kernan the one thing about brian cashman if you see him make trades a lot of times is with the same teams and general managers that he's comfortable with so he has worked with cincinnati before so maybe there's something there you never know um i would be all for i would love this deal um i would deal um you know again i tell you guys all the time i'm not a big fan of of trade scenarios and what that might look like and using a trade calculator and blah blah blah kind of just let it roll but i would be very very interested in going after luis castillo no doubt about it i would be 100 on them next guy as you guys know information i put out today i was told that al cy young i'm going to say it right now the a.l cy young winner robbie ray is looking for 20 plus million a season so a lot of predictions out there have them at four or five years guys i tell you what if you guys have been regular followers of this channel there's two pictures that i'm interested in that only cost money that i have been speaking about probably for four five years now on youtube and the guys who have been with me from way back in the day you could confirm this the yankees have tried to trade for robbie ray multiple times i was actually leading on those fronts two different times when they did try to trade for robbie right he held him back because of clint frazier and a few others so they've tried to trade for robbie ray brian cashman really likes him the other guy that i will talk about after this the yankees have also tried to trade for in the past and they do like him so it's potentially you know something could happen there but robbie ray guys i'm all over um the potential was always there i see people comparing andrew heaty heen dog which i hope i'll never have to say anymore because he's with the dodgers he's on an eight million dollar deal with the dodgers god bless you andrew heaney for getting that after what you did with the yankees god bless you god is good let me tell you um andrew heaney yeah he he's away so he's not an option for the yankees thank you lord that's our blessing his blessing is the 8 million our blessing is that he has no shot pitching for the yankees next year uh never rule out the future um but andrew heaney is gone but there's a lot of comparisons maybe that he's the next robbie ray and this and that guys i understand he's a lefty he strikes batters out and that's kind of it that's kind of the end of the comparison personality wise that nowhere near the same if you guys remember when heaney got here i told you guys i got a message from a friend he sent me the message and he said this is from a 20-year scout with the angels i said it right there i said it live flat out he doesn't have the stomach to pitch in new york he's not going to be able to handle it it's not going to be good it's not just by knowing him it's not gonna be good and it turned out not to be good i don't know if it was nerves i don't know if it was just bad pitching i don't know what it was but that was the early word i put that i put that information out there and his performance wasn't good we know that but to compare him to robbie ran like hold the horses a little bit i mean the comparisons really stop at that you know what i mean they're lefty they strike guys out and they're they were a little wild in their career that's that's it that's that's really it personality-wise they're different guys robby ray is a bulldog robbie ray is in the mulders roger clemens pedro martinez type this guy is a bull dog more so maybe than garrett cole robbie ray will throw at you robby ray is not scared he's not backing down so a couple of disclaimers though why i want robbie reagan to yankees one he's a bulldog as i already just said because i really think the yankees need more of that edge on this team they're too soft they're too soft i'ma just keep it real they're too soft they got the softest manager in the league you know what i mean he got them eating unicornios daily they're soft these guys throw up rainbows at the end of the day that's soft so when you look at the yankees adding a guy like robbie ray now you have two horses up top are bulldog types they're two horses up top that are workhorse they go out there and they give you some minute that strike you to hell out if the yankees and robbie ray they got a top two that could strike out 500 guys in a season that's a possibility they could potentially have one of the greatest strikeout rotations of all time bringing robbie wright also he's pitching the a at least also take him away from the very quickly rising toronto blue jays three he's pitching all the ballparks into the division we know that he's pitched in big games you know what i mean the negative to robbie ray let me just say this real quickly for the yankee fans and any fan out there who's gonna you know expect the same season as last year it's very possible but if he pitches to a mid-three era i still want him i still want the reason i say that is he's always gonna give up home runs it's the same reason why i got like guys like cole give them homers guys that work off of fastball excuse me guys that work off of fastball they give up homers because again they work off a fastball pretty straight hard but pretty straight guys hit it but robbie ray really really changed he really developed so much and a lot of that a lot of that really goes to the work and the dedication put in by the toronto blue jays so you got to give the blue jays a lot of credit the one thing that pete walker did who is the pitching coach for the toronto blue jays he figured something out with robbie or robbie ray if he's wild he's effectively wild and he's not walking to ballpark as he did in arizona he's effectively wild enough where he could just dominate through lineups because that's all robbie ray ever needed was to bring those walk totals down just a little bit the guy has the best k-9 ratio in major league baseball history get this man i cannot say it enough the personality the attitude it is worth the risk there's people out there that'll probably say pete don't you expect them to be worse yeah maybe maybe but that is a risk i am willing to take on a guy like robbie ray because if robbie ray i have no concerns on pitching new york by the way none whatsoever guys ice in his veins i have no concern about robbie ray pitching in new york he's not scared he's not going to back down if robbie ray could pitch to a mid 3 era 3.65 3.7 it's still a really good deal but i think he's even better than that i think robbie wright could even be better than what he was last year i don't think it's a fluke season do i expect his numbers to get much better no can i see him averaging out around that maybe low three high two that would be tremendous but this is the potential this kid has so you kid this is the potential this guy has so at the end of the day if you're the yankees you're gonna put money just cash towards something if there's a starter robby ray's your guy for me robbie ray's your guy a lot of people are throwing other names out there they're talking about hey p what about clayton kershaw um all these other names of guys that are available one of the other free agents that i know for a fact the yankees have interest in and they've had interest in is colorado rocky's pitcher john gray the yankees have an interest in him in the past i've reported on all that of the yankees being involved in john gray he turned down a deal i think it was three or four years for about 11 to 12 million a season with the rockies i still expect the same i think honestly at this point john greg was like just get me the hell out of colorado i i feel like that was the big thing for john gray he's probably like at this point just get me out of colorado enough was enough they have done such a bad job for really their fan base in the organization overall they have just done a terrible terrible job of of really working out guys leaving this organization they never traded trevor story as you guys are they didn't trade john great they thought they could resign them and as of right now it looks like that's not gonna happen they've just done a really poor job um of what they what they're doing with this team now a lot of people are gonna see john gray and they're gonna look immediately at his erase and say pete hold on buddy i can hear it you know 2016 461 2017 3.67 2018 fi uh 5.12 3.84 nineteen six i only only pitched eight games in 2020 the cove of the year six point six ninety array and then last year uh four point five nine era 29 games started and they're gonna immediately just sit there and say pete what are you thinking why can't do this no no no no no we can't do it well there's a lot of good signs um from robbie i'm not robbie rex from john gray last year first of all his feeling independent pitching throughout his career is way better than his era so his career era is 4.59 his career fielding independent pitching is 3.91 i don't know how much that has to do um with who robbie i like robbie ray i can't help it who john gray is but pitching in colorado isn't cute it's not the best thing in the world that you want to do as a starting pitcher and he's done a fairly decent job but a couple of good things last year's hits per nine were right about his best of his career so wasn't allowing as many hits home runs still around the same he didn't you know jump up with that walks were a little bit up walks were a little bit up but his strikeouts were really good 9.5 per nine it's another strikeout guy throughout his career there's been some injuries nothing too much you're looking at a guy's likely gonna give 150 plus year after year and he's pitched if not more than that there's only really the covert year we won't even count so there's only one full year that he didn't go over 150 innings that's going back to 2017 through 110 but then 172 150 last year 149 i count that as 150. who cares what's the difference so for me guys i i said it already i'm pretty sure you guys have probably heard me talk about this i am all for i am all for the new york yankees adding two starting pitchers you guys have seen me make my infield a lot of it is based off of trade and i go that route i believe this offense could be filled via trade i am not against signing a shortstop i would be all for it i'd be all for it but but i oh i really feel like pitching is so important then you get a guy like jacob stallings behind that plate that could really work with these guys sit back and enjoy sit back and enjoy so for me i look at a guy like robbie right no doubt about it you have a top two top three right there let's just say for the hell of it of garrett cole robbie ray and potentially a full and healthy louis severina that is nasty you could even take sevy out that picture right and you could just say we got cole and rey back to back two finalists for the cy young rey is gonna win it in my opinion i can't see how he doesn't but that's nasty it's about as nasty as it gets and i'm seeing what it takes to get a guy like john gray because again look you got james and ty on who's gonna miss some time jordan montgomery has shown himself to be a legitimate starting pitcher have him in the back end but let's have another veteran back there too let's not depend on the young horses let's not depend on the young guys imagine a nice rotation to start the year of coal rey sevi gray and monty or monty gray flip it however you want and then guess what you have when taion comes back a little thing i love to talk about team competition you want a pitch okay gotta do better somebody struggling the rotation no problem i'll take you out a couple of starts i love team competition i feel the yankees don't
