Yankees Showcase Power Over Rangers, With 4 HR's. Escape Late Trouble for Win

The New York Yankees showcased their power and resilience in a thrilling 8-7 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. This win allowed the Yankees to take two out of three games in the series and conclude their nine-game homestand with a 5-4 record.

Power Display by the Yankees

The Yankees’ offense was on full display, with Juan Soto leading the charge by hitting two home runs. Soto’s performance marked the third time in his seven-year career that he has reached the 30-home run milestone. Aaron Judge, not to be outdone, followed Soto’s second homer with a solo shot of his own, bringing his Major League-leading total to 42 home runs for the season.

Giancarlo Stanton also contributed significantly to the Yankees’ offensive output. He opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly and later hit his 20th home run of the season, a three-run blast that extended the Yankees’ lead. DJ LeMahieu added to the tally with two hits and a sacrifice fly.

Key Moments in the Game

One of the pivotal moments in the game came in the fifth inning. After the Rangers intentionally walked Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton made them pay by drilling a three-run home run, giving the Yankees a 5-0 lead. This strategic move by the Rangers backfired spectacularly, showcasing the depth and danger of the Yankees’ lineup.

Pitching Performance

On the mound, Marcus Stroman delivered a solid performance, pitching five innings of one-run ball while scattering four hits. However, the Yankees’ bullpen faced challenges for the second consecutive day. Each reliever gave up at least one run, with Mark Leiter Jr. allowing three runs on a pair of homers. Despite these struggles, Clay Holmes managed to secure a four-out save, although he surrendered a run and threw 45 pitches in the process.

Looking Ahead

With this victory, the Yankees improved their record to 70-49, while the Rangers fell to 55-63. The Yankees will now embark on a six-game road trip, starting with a series against the Chicago White Sox. Luis Gil is set to take the mound for New York in the opening game of the series.

Yankees Roll Past Red Sox, Claim Series Victory

The New York Yankees, hungry for a series win, delivered a resounding performance on Sunday night in Boston. They rolled past the Red Sox with an 8-2 victory, securing two out of three games in the series.

Offensive Firepower

The Yankees wasted no time, jumping to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Aaron Judge, a force at the plate, drove in the opening run with an RBI single. Gleyber Torres followed suit with a clutch two-out, two-run single. The offensive onslaught continued as Oswaldo Cabrera smashed a two-run ground-rule double, and Ben Rice, Austin Wells, and DJ LeMahieu contributed with sacrifice flies.

Jazz Chisholm Jr., making his debut with the Yankees, showcased his speed by singling, stealing a base, and crossing home plate.

Rodón’s Dominance

Carlos Rodón, the Yankees’ starting pitcher, turned in a stellar performance. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed only two solo home runs while striking out seven. His 25 swings and misses demonstrated his command and effectiveness on the mound, ranking as the third-highest in his career.

Bullpen Brilliance

The bullpen sealed the deal for the Yankees. Jake Cousins and Caleb Ferguson combined forces, shutting down the Red Sox in the final eight outs without conceding a single run.

Looking Ahead

With this crucial win, the Yankees now set their sights on the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies boast the best record in baseball at 65-50. The three-game series kicks off on Monday, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m.

Domingo German Reveals What Happened in Yankees Clubhouse, Say's He Still Drinks Alcohol Because "I don’t have a problem"

og:imageThe now Pittsburgh Pirate Domingo German recently answered some questions for NJ.com and talked about the famous clubhouse incident that took place with The Yankees last season.

He had this to say

“I didn’t drink anything that day,” German said. “I had a few drinks the night before, but I wasn’t incoherent (the next day). I knew exactly what I was doing that day of the game.”

“That was a dark day for me,” German said. “I couldn’t control my temper.”

“It was a really stupid situation,” German said. “Nobody told me that I wasn’t pitching (the night before). I was not informed. It had nothing to do with Marinaccio. I feel bad because I don’t treat my teammates that way. I don’t disrespect anyone. That’s why I got upset. I thought I was being disrespected, being painted in that light.”

“I drink when I want to drink, but I don’t have any problem,” German told NJ.com. “I can go a month or two months without drinking.”

German went to rehab last season, he agreed to go because the Yankees would have withheld $870,000 remaining of his $2.6 million contract.

“I went because the Yankees weren’t going to pay me,” German said. “I was told that I would be there for a month. My wife and family nudged me to go. They reminded me that I needed the money. My family told me, ‘You’re going to come out of here feeling better and you’re going to save your salary.’
